Where is Hannibal’s and How do I get there are two questions that are asked a lot from us at Hannibal’s.

So here goes.
Hannibal’s is located 62 kilometer from the town of Savusavu on the island of Vanua Levu in the island nation of Fiji.

Where is Fiji you might ask?
Fiji is located approximately 9,000 kilometers South West of Los Angeles and about 3200 kilometers North East of Sydney Australia. Fiji is in the heart of the South pacific between 16 degrees south and 20 degrees south on the 180th meridian.

What does that mean?
Every day starts first here in Fiji.

Where and what is the island of Vanua Levu?
Vanua Levu is the second largest island in Fiji.  It is located approximately 70 kilometers northeast of Viti Levu and is accessed by plane or ferry.

How to get here?
Lucky for you Fiji is equipped with an international airport, located on the island of Viti Levu in the jet set town of Nadi (pron. Nandy).  Nadi international is serviced by many airlines most notably; Air Pacific, Qantas, Air New Zealand, and many more.  These three are your big ones out of the United
States and Australia and New Zealand.  They offer direct flights from LA, Hawaii, Sydney, Auckland, Brisbane, and Melbourne.  However if you are not coming from one of those countries it is advisable that you check with your travel agent or your national airlines.

Once you arrive in Nadi you will need to get another flight by one of our domestic airlines, Air Fiji or Sun Air, which is about to be bought out by Air Pacific.  This 45minute flight will take you to Savusavu on the island of Vanua Levu.

From Savusavu you have several options; first you can hire the Hannibal’s van to pick you up at the airport for a nominal fee of $70.00 FJD.  This van can seat up to 10 people and their luggage.

Your next option is to hire a taxi to bring you out here.  This will set you back about $70.00 FJD.  A typical taxi can seat up to four people with their luggage.

And yet another option is the ever-reliable bus.  There is one bus that will bring you right to the resort and that is the Waikava bus.  This unforgettable ride will set you back $3.70 FJD and leaves Savusavu at 12:30 pm daily except Sundays.

Yes there is one more option and that is to rent a car and drive yourself to the resort.  You have two choices, Budget rent a car and James rent a car.  Both of these are located in Savusavu town.

If you are coming to Hannibal’s Resort by way of Suva you have several options available to you.  First you can fly from the Nausori airport to Savusavu on Air Fiji.  Sun Air does not fly this route.  There are two flights a day be sure and book your reservations with them early.

The other option is to take the ferry from Suva to Savusavu.  Three ferries, Suilven, Sofi, and the Sinu I Wasa service this route.  The trip is an overnighter and can be a bit rough in bad weather.
